We have created a blog to share information about the Rasmussen Reunion to take place July 29- August 1, 2010 in Park City, Utah.
Below is a tentative schedule for the reunion:
Thursday, July 29th
Check in time at the Silver King in Park City is 4:00 pm
The Lynns are arriving in Salt Lake City at about 10:00 am and driving directly to Promontory Point about 2 hours north to the Golden Spike National Park. This is where the train tracks came together in 1869. All are invited. Contact Frank Lynn or Jeanene Patterson for information.
Thursday is a good day to see old Park City on your own. There is a shuttle stop into town right by the Silver King. We will also have information about amenities and facilities in Park City.
Friday, July 30th
Day trip to Mt. Pleasant at 8:30 am to see the Rasmussen family home, the railroad depot, Wasatch Academy and more. It is a 2 hour drive to Mt. Pleasant. More details to come. Here is a blog we found with Mt. Pleasant history.
For those who stay in Park City, there are activities at the Park City Mountain Resort right by the Silver King such as the Alpine Slide and Coaster, the Zipline, Mountain Biking, Scenic Lift Rides, and more.
Nearby is the Utah Olympic Park. They have Bobsled rides on the run used in the 2002 Winter Olympics. They also have an Alpine Slide, a Zipline, and an Olympic Museum.
There is also golf, biking and hot air balloon rides in Park City.
Saturday, July 31st
In the morning, we are trying to arrange a scenic train ride on the Heber Creeper.
In the evening, we will have a dinner and get together at 5:30 pm at the Silver King. We will have a group photo taken, have the chance to share stories and memories of Fred and Rachel Rasmussen and their children, and more.
